SELF CARE
Perhaps it’s a pun, but 2020 is prompting the exercise of “vision” and, naturally, much reflection.
Today, we celebrate two! Though Alex and I have spent eight years as a couple since we locked eyes on that sunny day in Utica, Mississippi at Jewish summer camp, the past two of marriage have proven the unfathomable pace of joy and commitment.
Though I’m totally a sucker for great product branding and consume social media recommendations for the next-hottest skincare product, I’m at a stage in my twenties when preventative, medically-prescribed regiments are my priority.
My friend Mary Conley and I recently sat down for coffee, reflecting on our fast-paced lifestyles of blogging and otherwise — in my case, working full-time at an ad agency, and in her case, working full-time as a mom of two. She has always valued healthy eating and meals, but with two boys running full-speed, it’s tough to pull it all together!
I've recently read that "self-care is the new health care." A solid self-care routine is not only good for the body—it’s emotionally and spiritually restorative. It's about purpose and fulfillment in the little things—or, as my blog mantra, puts it, "the sweet touches to everyday experiences."
