I’ve been putting miles on my BMW X3 since bringing it home this summer and couldn’t appreciate its built-in features more. With a recent lake trip under our belt and a future drive down to the beach on our agenda, I’ve gained some great insights on how to take full advantage of the space in my vehicle. No matter your car’s shape or style, these accessories will add an element of ease to your next drive. Scroll and take note!

SNACK + PACK SMART

The center console can become an easy catch-up for loose change, receipts, or cups. I pack road trip snacks such as trail mix and in reusable bags that fit perfectly in the predetermined BMW compartments. Then, I ensure my phone charger, hand sanitizer, and a drink (I’m always drinking a La Croix or Diet Coke while driving!) are within reach.

NEWFOUND NOOKS + HOOKS

While there’s plenty of floor and trunk space for bags and belongings in my BMW, take advantage of your seat backs, too (I sound like a flight attendant!). These universal headrest hangers allow you to hang items such as bags, hats and umbrellas. Anything is now within reach from the driver’s seat.

P.S. This adorable market bag is on sale at Stock & Belle on South Main! Buy it online here.

AIR VENT MEETS FLOATING SHELF

The storage you didn’t know you had (or needed)? I love this car vent storage clamp from Amazon to keep small items (like key fobs, sunglasses, or my iPhone) within reach while on the road. Snacks packs are totally welcomed here, too.

DON’T LET A THING SLIP THROUGH THE CRACKS

Before buying these brilliant car gap organizers, Alex and I lost track of how many car trips our phones would slide between the seat and console into the abyss. We’d joke Alex’s pants were always “slippery” since the phone would never quite sit still. But on a more serious note, when driving, it’s incredibly dangerous to try to fetch a phone or smaller item that slips. These organizers not only prevent the fall but serve as an extra storage space, too! I keep travel packs of Clorox wipes, Kleenex, and a set of disposable masks in mine.

PROTECT THE PUPS, TOO

If your back row is reserved for pups instead of children, listen up: a car hammock is your greatest investment for car wear & tear! I have been using the Orvis quilted hammock for a few years now but found a more affordable option on Amazon that comes highly recommended, too. Then, we hook up Finn and Sawyer in a seatbelt, which essentially affixes from the BMW’s seatbelt lock to the pup’s collar. It works well (if they don’t get tangled up in each other’s business!) and gives you peace of mind while on long road trips.
