Elevated Fall Festival Looks

This weekend marks the second-annual Mempho Fest, a music-based festival that matches the national music talent (hey Beck and Post Malone) with a truly local experience. Held on the gorgeous grounds of Shelby Farms Park (which also hosts a go-to East Memphis spot The Kitchen), Mempho will offer local eats from MemPops and Corky’s to Grisanti 9-Dough-1 and Fresh Gulf Shrimp Food Truck. If you snag a VIP ticket, Chef Karen Carrier will deliver an ultimate spread of hors d’oeuvres and drinks.

When preparing festival apparel, I leaned on local clothier Oak Hall to provide styled looks to inspire the occasion. Compared to Beale Street Music Festival in our Downtown neighborhood, which we look forward to each May, Mempho can call for a more elevated attire on the lush green grass of Shelby Farms (versus mud fest on the Mississippi!).

This black Rag & Bone drop-waist dress from Oak Hall is layered with a cotton fitted base and leopard-print velvet overlay. Super comfortable and extra shifty for dancing to the music, the dress pairs perfectly with sneakers — mine are a gold and camel pair by Golden Goose Deluxe Brand, whose accent colors matched my cruiser bike unintentionally!

An olive silky jumpsuit, also available from Oak Hall, exudes casual comfort with seasonal sensibilities. I appreciated the drawstring waist and ankle length cut-off to avoid dragging in the grass. Oak Hall’s sunglasses collection also came in handy, where I snagged a pair of matte Ray Bans (look out for a giveaway soon!). A pair of fringy earrings from Bella Vita did the trick for accessorizing.
